Another Nomads weekend with little prospect of wind. Still, we were there,
there was a light W breeze, so I decided to haul out the big kit & go for a
sail on the Challaborough side of the beach - where there's more chop in
this wind direction.
Nothing special. After about 1/2 hour of pootling about, the wind started
to pick up enough to get me planing with the 9.4m, and 1/2 hr after that, I
was stretching the downhaul & outhaul with gusts up to ~ F4.
Had a great blast back & forth - challenging swells/chop over the
Challaborough side. Enough to make it real problem if you dropped the
rig.
Managed about 3 hours of slightly overpowered sailing in the end. Even
managed to jump the beast a few times. Scary!
